On May 2, 2025, the Honorable Health Minister paid an official visit to the Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag Administration to assess the progress and review the plans for the financial year 2024-2025. The program commenced with the traditional March offering, marking the formal start of the proceedings. During the session, the Dzongkhag Planning Officer provided a comprehensive presentation on the overall progress achieved by both the Dzongkhag and the Gewogs, as well as specific updates on the progress of the Small Development Project I (SDP I).
In the afternoon, the Honorable Health Minister visited the ongoing Bajo Phase Lifting of Footpath project.The Minister’s engagement with the local administration highlighted the government’s commitment to transparent oversight and the continuous improvement of public services and support at the district level.

The Ministry of Health officially launched the Annual Household-Health Surveillance (AHHS) pilot on 2nd May 2025 in Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Minister of Health, officials from the Ministry of Health, local government leaders, Dzongkhag officials, health staff of Wangdue Phodrang, and community members of Rubesa Gewog.
As part of the AHHS, health workers will visit households to promote water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices, screen for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), provide elderly care services, deliver health education, and collect updated household-level health data. A field visit was carried out in Nye Shi Gal Kha village under Rubesa Gewog. The Dzongkhag Administration Wangdue Phodrang extends heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry of Health and the community of Rubesa Gewog for their active support and participation.
