Two Days of Celebration in Wangduephodrang: Sha Festival & Dragon Fury Race
August 5–6, 2025:
Wangduephodrang celebrated its first-ever Sha Festival on August 5, inaugurated by His Excellency the Honorable Health Minister. The festival highlighted local products, biodiversity, and culture, featuring stalls of organic produce, honey, yak chees, dairy, and textiles. The day concluded with a lively night show by Bhutanese artists, drawing large crowds.
On August 6, the Dragon Fury Cycling Race took center stage and was flagged off by His Excellency the Honorable Health Minister. Riders, both local and international, tackled the 70 km route from Wangduephodrang to Thimphu, cheered on by enthusiastic spectators.
These back-to-back events showcased Wangduephodrang’s culture, spirit, and community pride, leaving a memorable mark on the district’s calendar.
